Your friends and loved ones will love receiving this soup-in-a-jar recipe. It comes together quickly and makes a huge pot full of hearty soup; perfect for cold winter nights.
Ingredients needed to make the soup:
- 1 1/2 lbs of ground beef
- 1 (14.5 oz) can of diced tomatoes
- 1 (15oz) can of tomato sauce
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 3 Quarts (12 cups) water or beef stock
- Salt & pepper to taste
How to Make the friendship soup instructions:
- Remove pasta from jar and set aside
- In a large stockpot pour in soup mix (sans pasta), water, cooked ground beef, garlic, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce.
- Bring to a boil then turn down to a simmer.
- Simmer for 1 hour.
- add pasta & cook until tender (about 10 minutes)

- 1 cup(s) Dried Lentils
- 1/2 cup(s) Pearl Barley
- 2 Beef Bouillon Cubes
- 1/4 cup(s) Minced Onion
- 1 teaspoon(s) Basil
- 1 teaspoon(s) Oregano
- 1 teaspoon(s) Parsley
- 1 teaspoon(s) Thyme
- 1/4 cup(s) Uncooked Brown Rice
- 1/2 cup(s) Uncooked Small Pasta (ditalini for example)
Instructions
- For a Gift we suggest adding the ingredients into your Mason jar in this order:
- 1/2 Cup Split Peas
- Brown Rice
- Minced Onion
- 1/2 Cup Lentils
- Spices
- 1/2 Cup Split Peas
- Beef Bouillion Cubes
- Pearl Barley
- 1/2 Cup Lentils
- Top off with pasta
