From BALL®: We appreciate you reaching out about the 24 oz. Wide Mouth Mason Jars. Unfortunately, these jars have been discontinued and are now obsolete. We continuously assess our product portfolio to ensure that it aligns with our long-term vision and values as a company. In this evaluation, we realized that there are some items that we needed to eliminate to allow us to continue to innovate and focus on the items our consumers need most. The Ball 4, 8, 16, 32, and 64-ounce jars are still available.


We’ve featured various brand-name alternatives in our blog post 24 Oz. Wide Mouth Mason Jars (Pint & a Half). These alternatives include Bernardin and Le Parfait. While both of these options deliver exceptional quality, they’re not as affordable as Ball’s 24 oz Mason jars.

For the greater preserving and canning community, please let us know in the comment section (bottom of this post) what brand of 24 oz. Mason jar you are using. We’d sincerely appreciate any information about high-quality, affordable alternatives that you’ve found.

What We Know About Tebery 24 oz. Mason Jars

These 24 oz Mason jars are compatible with Ball Mason jar wide mouth lids. They’re quite hefty and have a nice weight to them. Tebery 24 oz. Mason jars could be great for drinking, dry storage, and home organization.

That said, be cautious about canning with them. We recommend using them for storage rather than preserving. Reason being, numerous people have commented on the fact that they leak and do not handle heat well.

What We Know About Leavier 24 oz. Mason Jars

People often use Leavier 24 oz. Mason jars as drinking glasses for smoothies, teas, and cold brews. Like Tebery, these are great for storing ingredients.

However, many people have also noted that these jars are good for canning and fermenting. As an added benefit, Ball canning lids work with them. The quality of the glass is excellent but these jars have no measurement markings.

Quick note: The brand Leavier did come under fire in 2023 for being deceptive, insinuating to customers that these were Ball-brand jars.

Ball Wide Mouth 24 oz Mason Jars (Pint and Half) are a favorite with canners and Mason jar meal fanatics. They’re ideal for fresh preserving longer vegetables such as asparagus, cucumbers, and long beans. It’s really the ideal size in between Pint and Quart. These famous glass jars and lids go beyond fresh preserving to help you with serving, creative decor, and gift-giving.

Unfortunately, they’re getting more difficult to find, and the price is going up rapidly. If you’re set on getting Ball-brand wide mouth 24 oz. Mason jars, here are some options:

Interestingly, this issue has popped up before. Back in June 2017, Jarden announced that the 24 oz. jar was being discontinued. Then, in August 2017, they announced: “Our 24 oz. Ball Jars – Item #1440065500 has been brought back due to high consumer demand!”

Will the 24 oz. mouth Mason jar be brought back again? Or will everyone find alternatives?
