A little spicy, a little sweet—this refreshing cocktail unites the zip of a pepper with the chill of a cucumber. Top it off with honey simple syrup, and you’ve got a "Bee Sting." This flavorful cocktail is an excellent choice for an after-dinner drink.

A few months back we went out on the town with some friends (minus children) and ate at a beautiful place, but what I remember most about the meal (besides time away from the kids) was the cocktails!  One of our favorites was called the Viper: a tequila, cucumber-water, cayenne pepper drink that had a refreshing bite to every sip. We were hooked!

Since that night out, we've re-created the Viper and changed the name the Bee Sting. Get it? We replace the sugar syrup with honey syrup!

Not only did we nail it, but this is now my latest go-to cocktail recipe when I want a refreshing cocktail with a kick.  I promise you'll love this one!

**You will need to prepare your cucumber water a day in advance, so keep that in mind for your Friday night cocktails...or your Monday night cocktails, I'm not judging!!

The Bee Sting

Ingredients

  • 1-2 Jalapeño Slices
  • 1/2 ounce(s) Hudson & Lee Honey Simple Syrup
  • 1 ounce(s) 100% Agave Tequila
  • 1 ounce(s) Orange Liqueur
  • 2 ounce(s) Cucumber Water
  • 1 Cucumber Slice, Quartered
  • 1 Lime Slice, Quartered

Instructions

  1. You will need to prepare your cucumber water a day in advance; do so by taking 1/2 a cucumber, slice it, and place the slices in water overnight.
  2. Muddle together the quartered cucumber, lime, and jalapeño slices, and honey simple syrup in a cocktail shaker.
  3. Add ice, 100% Agave Tequila, orange liqueur, and cucumber water to the shaker and shake for 30 seconds.
  4. Strain and pour over ice.
  5. Add a slice of cucumber to the glass rim to top it off.
