Pear Cardamom Egg Nog Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 2 pears (preferably Bosc, peeled, cored, and cubed)
  • 2 pinches of cardamom
  • 1 tablespoon(s) protein powder
  • chia seeds, optional
  • 2 cup(s) Egg Nog
  • 1/2 to 1 cup(s) ice (per your preference)

Instructions

  1. Blend pears first to emulsify
  2. Add nog, ice, cardamom, and protein
  3. Blend until smooth

Eggnog

Ingredients

  • 4 cup(s) organic milk
  • 5 whole cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon(s) ground cinnamon
  • 12 Organic egg yolks
  • 1 and 1/2 cup(s) Organic Cane Sugar
  • 4 cup(s) light cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Combine milk, cloves, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, and cinnamon in a saucepan, and heat over lowest setting for 5 minutes. Slowly bring milk mixture to a boil.
  2. In a large bowl, combine egg yolks and sugar. Whisk together until fluffy. Whisk hot milk mixture slowly into the eggs. Pour mixture into a saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly for 3 minutes, or until thick. Do not allow mixture to boil. Strain to remove cloves, and let cool for about an hour.
  3. Stir in rum, cream, 2 teaspoon vanilla, and nutmeg. Refrigerate overnight before serving.
