New York Style Everything Bagels made right at home from your kitchen. These bagels are soft and fluffly, best enjoyed warm with your choice of spread. They make a great homemade housewarming gift or an impressive brunch item with friends. Bagels can be easily sliced and frozen to be enjoyed at a later date!

- Makes: 8 bagels
Bagel Dough
Ingredients
- 7 gram(s) dry active yeast
- 25 gram(s) sugar
- 295 gram(s) warm water (~90-100°F)
- 448 gram(s) all-purpose flour
- 9 gram(s) salt
Instructions
- Dissolve yeast and sugar in the warm water.
- Let rest for 5 minutes
- Add flour on top of yeast/sugar mixture. Add salt on top of flour.
- Knead for 10 minutes or until dough passes the window pane test.
- Place into a clean bowl and cover with a clean dish towel for about 1.5 hours or until the dough doubles in size.
- After rising, divide dough into 8 equal pieces.
- Shape each piece into a smooth ball, pulling it toward you on the counter to increase the surface tension of the dough.
- Poke index finger through the center and twirl around your fingers to enlarge the hole to about 2 inches in diameter.
- Place onto a parchment paper covered cookie sheet and cover with kitchen towel for 30 minutes.
Boiling Dough & Baking
Ingredients
- 2 quart(s) water
- 2 eggs, beat in bowl
- Everything Brooklyn Bagel Seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- Bring water to a boil in large pot.
- When water is boiling and bagels have rested 30 minutes, drop bagels into the boiling water one by one. Cook 10-30 seconds on each side and return them back to to the cookie sheet.
- When all 8 bagels have been boiled, brush on egg wash to top of each bagel.
- Sprinkle Everything Brooklyn Bagel Seasoning onto each bagel.
- Place in oven and bake 20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Carefully slice and enjoy within 3-5 days! These can be frozen and kept for up to 1 month.
