Read on for ten protein-packed meals and snacks that you can take just about anywhere.

- Talty Bar Gluten & Soy Free Protein Bar Variety Pack (13 grams of protein)
- Soy-free, Gluten-free Protein Bars (13 grams of protein)
- Graziella Dark Chocolate Cherry (12 grams of protein)
2. NUTSÓLA All-Natural DIY Superfood Mix
If you’re looking for a source of protein that’s vegan, gluten-free, and grain-free, NUTSÓLA’s Superfood Mix is a must-have. Whether you choose Peanut Butter, Vanilla Almond, Cacao Almond, Banana Nut, or Cheery Max, this superfood mix will fit nicely in a Mason jar for both storage and mixing purposes.
3. Reid's Gourmet Peanut Butter
Sure, you could carry peanut butter around in its own container, but we know how tempting that can be. Consider scooping out a serving instead and adding your peanut butter to a Cuppow Canning Jar of your choosing. Additional fruits and vegetables will make this spread the perfect protein-packed snack at 7 grams of protein per serving.
4. Protein Shake
Available in a variety of flavors and food combinations, protein shakes are an incredible source of nutrition and often range from 10-30 grams of protein. You can purchase them pre-made at the store, or make your own with the ingredients of your choosing. If your New Year’s Resolution is to go to the gym, you can rest easy knowing you can take your shake with you in a reCAP® Mason Jars Water Bottle!
5. Salad w/ Your Choice of Protein
From Taco Salad to Caesar Salad, the options are seemingly endless. However, one fact remains the same: salads can be prepared overnight for the following day and be conveniently preserved in one of our Mason jars. Our reCAP® Mason Jar Pour Spout Lid & Tap is essential for pouring your choice of dressing, too. For a good source of protein, we suggest the Green Goddess Chicken Salad.
6. Overnight Oats
Our reCAP® Mason Jars lid FLIP caps are perfect for containing Mason jars full of oats and other messy foods. Oats are filling meals (one part oats, one part milk) that are essential to breakfast. If you’re feeling up to the challenge, consider preparing a week’s worth of overnight oats at once, each with at least 5 grams of protein per serving. As you begin to create your desired meal, you can add other food products to increase your fiber and protein intake. Say goodbye to your morning rush before work and use the following recipe to make the perfect breakfast:
- 1 cup milk (of your choice)
- 1 cup oats
- Spoonful of peanut butter (or protein powder)
- Spoonful of honey (optional)
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract (optional)
7. Greek Yogurt
Greek yogurt is as simple to make as it is to eat—all you need is three ingredients: a Mason jar, low-fat milk, and low-fat yogurt. First, heat your milk to 180-185 degrees on your stovetop, then let it cool to 110 degrees. Next, combine your milk with yogurt (the ratio is 1:1), and you’ll have greek yogurt the next day! Straining your yogurt and adding more ingredients for flavor is optional, though it does increase your protein intake.
8. Overnight Quinoa
Just like greek yogurt, quinoa is easy to make. All you need is:
- 1 cup cooked quinoa
- 1/2 cup almond milk (or any milk of your choice)
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds (or flaxseeds)
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon maple syrup
- Sliced apples or bananas
Quinoa should be stored and refrigerated overnight for the best results, and for that, Mason jars make an excellent storage option.
9. The Perfect Healthy Smoothie Formula
Adapted from Health.com, our smoothie will contain your choice of fruit, ice, liquid, and protein. We suggest using frozen berries, bananas, fruit juices, and healthy fats. However, remember that fruits have natural sugars, so be mindful of your intake (and steer clear of artificial sugars!). For a thicker end product, add some of your homemade greek yogurt. Available in four colors, our reCAP® Mason Jars Lid Original POUR cap will keep your smoothie fresh and spill-free.
10. Beef Jerky
Depending on the brand, beef jerky can contain 7-11 grams of protein per serving. While beef jerky often comes in its own bag, it is recommended that you refrigerate your jerky once the package is open. For an airtight storage option, purchase a Mason jar.
